今天是3月8日國際婦女節，根據財政部統計，2015年全台133.3萬家企業中，有36.1%的企業是女性當家，女老闆比例創下新高，顯示台灣女力正在崛起。而現今創業管道多元，跨境電商平台是一個機會，就有女性賣家自創品牌設計龐克服飾熱銷歐美市場，其月收入高於上班族4至5倍。
台灣女賣家Nicky自創品牌「Refuse to Be Usual（RTBU）」，透過eBay平台跨境銷往美國、歐洲市場，經營至今已超過10年，而賣場販售服飾商品除了有廠商合作供貨，另有部分是自行設計製作，而早期銷售服飾類型有蘿莉風、視覺系、龐克風等，現在則以SM、龐克風格為主，價格從美金5元至200元都有。由於賣場商品特殊，所吸引到的購買族群自然不一般，例如玩樂團的人、刺青師父或從事表演藝術性質的人，都是主要客層。
而Nicky曾做過工業設計、PM等工作，唸書所學的與服飾設計其實沒有任何關聯性，但她說：「在公司上班一陣子後，算了一下自己能存的薪資，發現最多也只有6、700萬，看這數字被嚇到，於是就有了想創業的念頭。」當時網路創業正興起，Nicky也想嘗試，雖然沒正式學過做衣服，但她從小就喜歡自己動手設計，因此選擇從這方面著手。
由於Nicky以前就在美國讀書，經常逛國外網站，對於eBay、亞馬遜等都很熟悉，因此網路創業從跨境開始做起。她觀察市場趨勢後發現，如果和其他賣家一樣，只批既有的品牌商品來販售，只會陷入所謂的「samsonite行李箱價格戰」，因此產品必須要有特色，並且要有市場敏銳度，觀察當下正在流行什麼，進而有所應變，才能讓賣場長久經營下去。
Nicky還提到， 從以前留存到現在的賣家只剩10%，小賣家逐漸變少，在大型賣家居多、以及大陸賣家加入的情況下，賣場須有規模或提供好產品才能生存，此為從事跨境網路買賣的困難點之一。除了講求商品特殊性，由於Nicky很重視買家購物體驗，不只提供完善售後服務，還另外經營社群粉絲團與買家互動，因此吸引不少人購買，即便外銷品項較為利基，仍創下每月收入為一般上班族4至5倍。
對於女性創業，Nicky認為另一項最大優勢在於，更容易和廠商洽談合作。而eBay總經理范正亞表示，運用全球跨境電商平台創業，具有門檻低、營運成本低、現金流周轉快、買家族群多等優勢，eBay已有許多女性男生包包品牌賣家成功創業，外銷MIT優質品項，在國際市場擁有穩定的忠誠買家。
